U.S. Defense Department officials stated that the USS Trenton and USS Mason, supported by Apache helicopters and other military aircraft, encountered a series of coordinated military threats during their voyage.
Iran deployed small speedboats, missiles, and drones to launch sustained saturation harassment against the two warships.
Despite the high intensity of the attacks, neither of the U.S. Navy ships was hit.
Military officials said that with aerial support and defensive tactics, the U.S. side successfully intercepted and repelled all incoming threats, and none of the fired projectiles hit the warships. (East News Agency)
