With Fiat Balance, both buying and selling fiat payments can be completed directly within the Gate platform—eliminating the need to switch to external banking apps or upload payment proofs. Once payment is confirmed by the system, escrowed assets are released automatically in seconds.

User Guide
Buying Crypto with Fiat Balance
- Open the Gate App or Web and go to the [P2P Trading] page.
- Select your fiat currency (e.g., USD) and check Fiat Balance / USD Balance under the payment method filter.
- Select a suitable ad and click [Buy] . The system will automatically display your current available fiat balance. (If your balance is low, click "Quick Top-Up" next to it to navigate to the deposit page.)
- Enter the purchase amount, review the order details, and click [Pay] . The system will deduct your fiat balance and release the assets automatically to complete the trade.
Selling Crypto for Fiat Balance
- Add and link Fiat Balance / USD Balance as your payment method in the P2P settings.
- Filter for ads supporting Fiat Balance / USD Balance and click [Sell] .
- Once the order is placed, the buyer will pay you using their fiat balance.
- As soon as funds are successfully transferred to your Gate fiat account, the system will release the crypto automatically—no manual confirmation required.
Merchant Guide
Posting Ads Supporting Fiat Balance
- Go to the [Post Ad] page and select your target fiat currency (e.g., USD).
- Under the payment method options, select Fiat Balance / USD Balance .
- Posting a Buy/Sell Ad: Ensure your account has sufficient fiat balance to pay for orders. If your fiat balance is insufficient, the ad cannot be submitted or receive new orders.
FAQs & Important Notes
- Why does it show "Insufficient Fiat Balance"?
- Available balance only includes funds that are unrestricted and free for trading. If your balance is frozen, subject to withdrawal limits, or under risk review, it cannot be used for P2P orders. Please top up your fiat balance via the deposit page in advance.
- What should I do if it says "Current App Version Not Supported"?
- The Fiat Balance payment feature requires updated protocol support. Please update your Gate App to the latest version and try again.
- Which currencies and combined payment options are supported?
- Currently, this feature only supports P2P trades denominated in a single supported fiat currency. Combined payments (e.g., mixing Fiat Balance with a credit card) or unsupported fiat currencies are not available at this time.
