Sometimes a memo or a tag is required when making deposits/withdrawals of certain currencies, such as MOBI, XLM, BTS, GXS, EOS, and XRP.

How to tell if a memo or a tag is required?
① When making a deposit or a withdrawal, if you do not see a box for a memo or a tag on the page, it is not required.
② If you do see a box for a memo or a tag on the page, it is required.

When withdrawing a memo/tag-required token to Gate, please fill in the correct memo/tag displayed on the corresponding deposit page so that the system can identify and credit the transfer to your account. It must go wrong if you want the funds to arrive at the recipient’s address with the required tag or memo left blank or incorrect.

How to make a deposit on website (example: depositing XLM from Wallet.io to Gate)
Step 1: Open Wallet.io and click “Configurations” in the lower-left corner.

Step 2: Enter the coin you want to deposit to Gate: Enter “XLM”, add it and click “Save configuration”.

Step 3: Click on “Send”.

Step 4: Fill in the recipient’s address, deposit amount, and memo.

Step 5: Log into your Gate account. Click “Assets” - “Funds Management” - “Deposit” - “Onchain”.
1

Step 6: On the XLM deposit page, select the coin and network, then you will see the deposit address and MEMO/TAG. Copy the deposit address and the MEMO/TAG.
1

Step 7: Paste the address and MEMO/TAG into the correct boxes, enter the transfer amount and pay. Having successfully deposited the coin, you can view details in “Recent Deposits”.

How to make a withdrawal on website (taking withdrawing XLM as an example)
Step 1: Log into your Gate account. Click “Assets” - “Funds Management” - “Withdraw” - “Onchain”.
1

Step 2: On the XLM withdrawal page, select the coin and network, enter the deposit address, MEMO/TAG, and quantity. Then click “Withdrawal”.
1

Step 3: Double-check the information before entering the fund password and Google authenticator code, then click “Confirm”. Having completed the withdrawal process, you can view its status in “Recent Withdrawals”. If the withdrawal is still in progress, you can cancel it if you want.

Note:
(1) The memo/tag must be entered in the “Tag/MEMO” box on the withdrawal page if you need to enter memo/tag.
(2) If you have made a deposit to an address on Gate without a memo/tag or with the wrong one, you need to submit a ticket providing your UID, a screenshot showing that you have successfully deposited an coin, the correct memo/tag, and the TxID in text format. Our customer service agents will address this as soon as possible.
