On November 4, at the AIBC World Rome 2026 summit held in Rome, Dr. Giovanni Cunti, CEO of Gate Technology Ltd, was invited to attend a featured panel discussion. Dr. Cunti noted that Gate is authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and as a Financial Institution (FI), and that Gate is moving from regulatory compliance towards operational execution and real-world use cases. Reflecting on over a year of operating under the framework, Dr. Cunti emphasized: “MiCA has effectively bridged the gap with legacy finance and created a unified ecosystem across Europe, opening vital doors with traditional banks and payment service providers.” As a pivotal milestone in this compliance strategy, Gate officially launched its new crypto-asset payment solution for the European market, Gate Pay.
Gate Pay brings together merchant KYB verification, payment settlement, order tracking, refunds, and treasury management in a single environment. The product supports 12 languages, with English as the default alongside other European languages. Its reporting and analytics tools can display amounts in key fiat currencies, including EUR, PLN, and GBP, and USDC is the default settlement currency.
To accommodate both online and offline sales, Gate Pay supports e-commerce and retail scenarios through Static QR Codes. It also offers financial overviews, internal transfers, crypto-to-crypto exchanges, and customer reward distribution, helping merchants manage the process from transaction to treasury. Users can authorise payments via the Gate App or Web Checkout and move funds between their payment account and spot account.
Dr. Giovanni Cunti stated: “Gate Pay is designed to connect European merchants and users with crypto-asset payments within a regulated framework.” He further highlighted: “Strict adherence to rules such as market integrity, transparency, and asset segregation is the true way forward, providing the solid foundation needed for the European market to reach new heights.” Gate will continue to develop its products and risk management practices for the European market.
