According to financial sources, on July 9, the successor selection process for Bank of Korea Federation auditor Bae Jun-seok has stalled ahead of his term ending on July 17. The government's ethics committee has tightened screening standards to prevent "revolving-door" hiring, making it difficult for successors from the Bank of Korea to inherit the position as in the past three appointments. Currently, political figures and campaign staff are being considered for the role instead.
