Gate Alpha Announcement on the Points System Launch and Mechanism
To further enhance ecosystem development and optimize user participation, the Gate Alpha Points System will officially launch on July 29, 2025. Alpha Points will serve as the core evaluation metric for users' eligibility to participate in Token Generation Events (TGE), Alpha token airdrops, and other ecosystem benefits. The key mechanisms and rules of the points system are as follows:
I. Definition and Role of Alpha Points
- Definition: Gate Alpha Points are an activity evaluation metric generated based on user behavior data within the Gate platform and Alpha ecosystem (such as asset holdings and trading activity). The points value is calculated as the cumulative total of daily points over the past 15 days.
- Core Role: Alpha Points directly determine your eligibility for Alpha token airdrops, TGE subscriptions, limited-time events, and more. The higher your points, the more benefits you can access.
II. Points Calculation Rules
1. Balance Points
Balance points reflect the total assets held on Gate. Only tokens listed on Gate's spot market and held across all accounts, as well as Alpha tokens in the Alpha account (including tokens in internal market trading), are counted. Tokens that are not displayed in Alpha or are not listed on Gate's spot market are excluded from the Balance Points calculation.
Calculation Logic: Each day, balance points are generated based on the real-time USD market value of eligible assets. The specific calculation values can be found on the Alpha Points display page.
2. Trading Volume Points
Eligibility: Only the amount spent on buying tokens in the Gate platform's Alpha Featured section counts toward Trading Volume Points. Sell trades and internal trading are excluded.
Detailed Rules:
- For a daily first purchase of ≥ 2 USDT, you earn 1 Point;
- After the first purchase, every time the buy amount doubles (e.g., 4 USDT → 8 USDT → 16 USDT …), you earn an additional 1 Point. Example: Buying 4 USDT = 2 Points, buying 8 USDT = 3 Points, and so on.
3. Special Points Rules
Gate Alpha will occasionally launch token events. During these events, trading designated tokens may yield extra bonus points. Specific rules will be announced for each event.
III. Snapshot and Timing Rules
- Daily Snapshot Time: 00:00:00 (UTC). The system records eligible asset balances and buy volume at this time.
- Points Update Time: By 02:00 (UTC) daily, the system completes the cumulative calculation of the past 15 days of points and updates the total.
- Example: If you complete a trade before 00:00:00 on April 23 (UTC), it will count toward the April 22 cycle. If you trade after 00:00:00 on April 23, it will count toward the April 23 cycle.
IV. Points Inquiry
Alpha Points can currently only be viewed and airdrops claimed through the Gate App v7.14.0 or later. You can access the "Alpha Points" page via:
- Method 1: Gate App → Sidebar → [Alpha Points];
- Method 2: Trading panel (top right) → [Alpha Points];
- Method 3: App Homepage search bar → Search "Alpha Points" and enter.
V. Points Rewards Distribution
Users can redeem airdrop rewards by consuming Alpha Points. Each airdrop must be manually claimed within the designated period; unclaimed rewards will expire. Specific rules announced for each airdrop event shall prevail.
Once successfully claimed, rewards will be distributed to the Alpha account within 1 hour.
VI. Launch Notes & Important Reminders
- Alpha Points have been pre-calculated prior to launch, and users can directly check their balances.
- Only the main account participates in Alpha Points calculation; subaccount balances and trading volumes are consolidated into the main account's Points.
- Points are used solely for activity and eligibility evaluation, and do not affect your asset holdings, trading, or withdrawal rights.
- Points rules may be adjusted based on ecosystem developments; the latest version will always follow the official Gate Alpha announcements.
