The President of the Bundesbank, Joachim Nagel, announced at the Bundesbank Spotlight conference in Berlin that he wants to accelerate the development of the digital euro and euro stablecoins to reduce the EU's dependence on Visa and Mastercard, which account for nearly two-thirds of card payments in the eurozone.
