Golden Finance reports that on April 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed, on April 2, discussing the rapid escalation of military conflict in the Middle East and its impacts. The Kremlin said that both sides emphasized that a ceasefire must be reached as soon as possible. Putin and Crown Prince Mohammed noted that the energy extraction and transportation problems triggered by the current crisis are having a negative impact on global energy security. Therefore, both sides stressed the importance of cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia under the “OPEC+” framework for stabilizing the world oil market. According to Saudi Press Agency, Putin reiterated that Russia supports Saudi Arabia in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial security. (Xinhua)
