Golden Finance News reported that on April 1, U.S. President Trump said he expects the United States will end its war with Iran within two to three weeks, suggesting that the U.S. has essentially achieved its military goals and leaving the resolution of the Strait of Hormuz issue to other countries. On Tuesday at the White House, Trump told reporters: “I want to say within two weeks, maybe two weeks, maybe three weeks. We will leave, because we have no reason to keep doing this.” Trump hinted that during this period Iran may still be able to reach an agreement with the United States. He said: “We are wrapping up the mission. I think we can finish the work in about two weeks, maybe a few more days, but we have to destroy everything they have. Now, there’s a possibility we could reach an agreement before that, because we will strike the bridges—we’ve already struck some, and in our hearts we still have a few good bridges. But if they’re willing to sit down at the negotiating table, that would be a good thing.” Trump also said that there is no need for an agreement with Iran for the United States to end the war. When we feel they have been forced back into the Stone Age and can’t produce nuclear weapons, whether or not we reach an agreement, we will leave.
