Golden Finance reports that on March 31, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei posted on a social platform stating that since the United States launched war against Iran, Iran has not held any negotiations with the United States. “In these 31 days, we have not held any negotiations with the United States,” Baghaei said. “At present, the situation is that the United States has, through certain intermediary channels including Pakistan, conveyed to us requests for negotiations and a package of proposals.” He said Iran’s position on a ceasefire has not changed. “Our position is very clear. At the moment, since the United States’ military aggression and invasion are still being carried out in full force, all our efforts and capabilities are devoted to defending Iran’s fundamental interests.” Baghaei said that Iran “will not forget that diplomatic means were betrayed twice within less than a year.” The first betrayal he referred to was the war that lasted 12 days in June 2025, during which the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran’s military and nuclear facilities during negotiations.
