Woke up to find Iran really followed through on their word.
Latest news: just two hours after Iran issued a warning, Qatar's Ras Laffan refinery was hit by missile strikes, with massive fires raging. The critical part is, this isn't just any ordinary refinery—it's the world's largest liquefied natural gas production base, backed by American capital: Qatar Energy owns 70%, and American Chevron Phillips Chemical owns 30%.
Saudi Arabia's Yanbu refinery was also bombed, triggering massive fires. That's the U.S. military's aircraft refueling hub.
At this point, the situation is spiraling out of control.
This has escalated from a war of mutual military base strikes to a war of economic jugular attacks.
Israel previously killed Raisi, then bombed Iran's South Pars gas field. Basically, even if the entire Middle East's oil and gas infrastructure goes up in flames, Israel doesn't care—they just want Iran dead.
The U.S. originally might not have wanted to escalate this far, but clearly got dragged in by Israel. Who knows what kind of leverage Mossad has on the Trump guy. The Fed might not even be able to cut rates this year.
Iran is now left with no choice but passive escalation. The only card they can play is directly targeting the economic infrastructure of the U.S. or its Gulf allies, even holding global economic stability hostage as leverage. If you won't let me live, I won't let you prosper.
If this can't be stopped in the next six months, global fertilizer supply could drop by a third. The hardest hit will be those third-world countries already facing food shortages—widespread famines will erupt. Then oil supplies get cut off, global supply chains collapse, mass unemployment follows, and even the international settlement system could implode.
That's the truly terrifying part.
And who's the biggest winner in this chaos? Russia.
Natural gas prices have skyrocketed, fertilizer prices have exploded, crude oil doesn't even need mentioning...these are all Russia's primary commodities.
The Bear just leaped into becoming a developed nation. #Gate13周年全球庆典
