$18 billion asset management giant applies for ETF tokenization: Traditional finance officially embraces blockchain

Abstract generation in progress

[BlockBeats] Major asset management players are also beginning to embrace tokenization. This time, it’s F/m Investments with a management scale of $18 billion taking the lead—they have submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to transfer the ownership records of their flagship product, F/m US Treasury 3 Month Bill ETF(TBIL), onto the blockchain.

The key point here is that F/m Investments emphasizes: tokenized shares will not alter existing rights, fee structures, voting rights, or economic terms; it’s simply changing the “record-keeping method” from centralized to blockchain. In plain terms, what investors hold remains essentially the same, only the underlying technology has been upgraded.

If they truly get SEC approval, TBIL will be able to support both traditional brokerage channels and digital-native platforms simultaneously. What does this mean? It means that traditional finance and the crypto world are no longer parallel lines but can truly interconnect. For the ETF market, this could be a turning point.

Traditional finance finally can't sit still. Are they trying to bottom fish or genuinely optimistic?

It seems traditional finance is also starting to panic; they have to obediently turn to blockchain for survival.

Wait, an institution with 18 billion USD suddenly applying for an ETF? This pace feels off, there must be big players manipulating behind the scenes. How are the on-chain fund flows? Are there any large transfer signals beforehand? I need to dig into it. March-term government bond tokenization... this pattern feels a bit familiar, I have a hunch it's a preemptive move for some positive news.

The 18 billion dollar big players are all into tokenization now; traditional finance really has no way back.
