On the 13th of March, the Golden Data reported that the Constitutional Court of South Korea ruled on the impeachment case against Choi Jae-hae, the chief of the South Korean Supreme Prosecutors' Office initiated by the South Korean National Assembly. The court rejected the impeachment case, and Choi Jae-hae's authority was restored. The South Korean National Assembly submitted the relevant impeachment case to the Constitutional Court on December 5th last year. In the impeachment reasons, the National Assembly believed that Choi Jae-hae, the chief of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, did not diligently fulfill his supervisory duties during the presidential office and official residence relocation process when the administration of Yoon Suk-yeol took office. The impeachment case against Choi Jae-hae is part of a series of impeachments initiated by the largest opposition party, the People Power Party, against senior public officials in South Korea. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol issued a state of emergency on December 3rd last year and subsequently stated multiple times that the opposition party's abuse of impeachment power by relying on its majority in the National Assembly was one of the important reasons for declaring a state of emergency.
