The Sinister Capitalist, the Man-Eating AI—you think AI will replace your job and steal your rice bowl? Wrong! AI is smashing your pot directly!

Recently, American tech giant Meta(formerly Facebook)announced a 20% workforce reduction. The reason? They previously invested heavily in computing power for AI and spent too much money. Now they're cutting staff to reduce costs and increase investment in AI infrastructure.

The original statement from the report goes: "This move aims to offset expensive artificial intelligence infrastructure investments and prepare for higher efficiency with AI-assisted employees."

The hidden meaning behind this is: AI costs too much and they can't sustain it, so they have to cut staff to reduce labor costs and feed those savings back into AI. Although AI hasn't demonstrated major benefits yet, the layoffs are a preemptive strike to prepare for AI efficiency gains.

Previously, we naively believed AI would improve company efficiency, replace our jobs, and thus cause layoffs. Now it seems we oversimplified things. Before AI can even demonstrate efficiency improvements, these tech giants are laying off workers early in their tech arms race.

This is an extremely frightening phenomenon—AI's massive investment is crowding out human employment. Currently, this phenomenon only appears in Silicon Valley.

For example, Microsoft laid off 19,000 people in 2025, Amazon laid off 30,000 in 2025, and Meta is projected to lay off 16,000 people. These are all examples of employment being crowded out by AI investment.

I truly hope this wave doesn't spread to the East. It's too brutal!#比特币站上七万美元
