Moonriver is an EVM compatible blockchain running as a parallel chain on the Kusama network. EVM compatibility allows Ethereum based applications to be deployed on Moonriver. The functions provided by the network for developers include the deployment of solid smart contracts, Web3 compatible APIs, Oracle data and Ethernet bridges. Movr is a functional and governance token of the platform, which can be used for network governance, payment of transaction fees, and reward by providing liquidity and mortgage. Mortgage: users can mortgage movr to become a verifier or entrust, participate in network consensus, and get rewards from movr. Liquidity Mining: provide liquidity for decentralized exchanges (DEX) built on the Moonriver blockchain (such as solarbeam) to earn the fees of some exchanges. Moonriver consists of the following main parts: Kusama: Kusama acts as a public test environment (Canary network) before releasing the project on poca. Moonriver is the Kusama ecosystem version of moonbeam (glmr) in Poka ecosystem. Parallel chains: parallel chains are independent blockchains (shards) that can be connected to Kusama. Crowdfunding loan: it is a method for the project to raise funds for a parallel chain slot on the Kusama network. Users temporarily lock their KSM in exchange for rewards from the project team, usually in the form of the project's native token. Slot auction: if you want to operate as a parallel chain project on Kusama, you must win a slot in the parallel chain auction.
