The January 19 data of Jinshi News, the Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 18th that the provisional population of Hong Kong by the end of 2024 was 7.5342 million, an increase of 64,000 people from the end of 2023, an increase of 0.1%. The population of Hong Kong has recorded a rise for the third consecutive year. The data shows that from the end of 2023 to the end of 2024, the number of births in Hong Kong was 36,700, and the number of deaths was 51,400, resulting in a natural decrease of 14,700. The rise in population is mainly due to a net influx of 21,000 Hong Kong residents.
