Grayscale Files for Solana Spot ETF with SEC

Grayscale Investments, a US crypto asset management firm, has filed an application to convert the Grayscale Solana Trust (GSOL) into a spot Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Arca on Tuesday (December 3).

The filing marks a significant move as Grayscale becomes the fifth asset manager to seek approval for a Solana ETF, following similar filings from firms such as VanEck, 21Shares, and Bitwise.

Following the announcement, the price of Solana (SOL) surged 6%, reflecting renewed investor interest and confidence in the asset class as it recovers from its previous downturn.

If approved, the ETF could have a significant impact on how investors access and invest in the Solana network, potentially increasing market participation and price stability.
