CFTC Commissioner Calls for Crypto Policy Reform in the US
Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Commissioner, the US trading authority, Summer Mersinger called for the need for clear and uniform regulations for the crypto industry in the US. She conveyed this at the North American Blockchain Summit, a dialogue forum between the blockchain community and policy regulators, Thursday (11/21).
The University of Minnesota graduate assessed that the regulatory approach that relies on current law enforcement actions actually creates confusion and uncertainty for crypto companies.
Mersinger also believes that the CFTC has the ability to properly supervise the crypto spot market, even though this institution is smaller than the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the US financial services authority.
This emphasizes that transparent regulations will help crypto companies understand and comply with regulations more easily.
