#PEPE #BTC Manfred Weber, Chairman of the European People's Party Group in the European Parliament, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, posted on social media on October 9 discussing the political situation in Hungary. Weber even directly referred to Hungarian Prime Minister Orban as "a thing of the past," and the leader of the Hungarian opposition party, Péter Márki-Zay, and his party, as "the future." On October 11, Orban pointed out in an interview that Weber and von der Leyen's remarks were a "public statement to overthrow the current Hungarian government." Orban said that although he had long suspected that these two had such intentions, such public statements were "unusual."
