On May 21st, Livepeer, a video streaming platform, announced the launch of Livepeer AI Subnet, a decentralized video processing network with AI computing capabilities. This subnet will be built on top of Livepeer's decentralized video processing network architecture, providing globally accessible open video infrastructure and scalability through blockchain-based token economics. Livepeer AI Subnet also allows Livepeer Orchestrator node operators to earn ETH and LPT income by deploying GPU resources for AI processing tasks.
Livepeer's AI subnet is rolled out in three phases, the first phase is complete and is currently being optimized, and Livepeer expects to launch the mainnet in Q3 2024.
