According to PANews on August 2, according to the official Twitter, Optimism announced the launch of Superchain Faucet, a testnet faucet that supports the reputation system, allowing developers to use the reputation data on the chain to obtain up to 20 times the amount of ETH on the regular testnet. This will help developers in the Optimism ecosystem to test and iterate more efficiently on their projects. Superchain Faucet not only supports social authentication through GitHub, but also allows developers to authenticate through on-chain identities.
Currently, Superchain Faucet supports OP Goerli, but it is designed to be extended to other OP Chains of Superchain, including Base, ZORA NETWORK, PGN and future Superchain partners. Superchain Faucet currently supports authentication via Optimist NFT and will support World ID in the future.
