Iranian media confirm they have received some signals from the United States indicating readiness to lift the sanctions
Golden Finance reports that on April 22, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, Iran’s envoy stated that once the U.S. lifts the maritime blockade, Iran is ready to negotiate. The official Iranian media released a video with a caption saying that Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, stated that Tehran is prepared to negotiate immediately after the U.S. ends the maritime blockade, and emphasized that Washington must first cease its “violation of the ceasefire agreement.” Following the release of this report, the market responded quickly, with gold and silver prices rising in the short term, while the U.S. dollar and crude oil declined. Previously, media outlets such as the Associated Press and RIA Novosti had reported the envoy’s remarks; this is the first time an official Iranian media outlet associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has reported this news.
