Coinbase tests AI employee agents, simulating former executives to provide decision-making support
Golden Finance reports that on April 21, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that the company is testing AI agents built based on former executives to assist employees with decision-making and communication. Among them, the “Fred” agent simulates co-founder Fred Ehrsam, mainly used to optimize documents and strategies, while the “Balaji” agent simulates former CTO Balaji Srinivasan, used to provide innovative ideas.
According to the introduction, these types of AI agents will be integrated into the company’s internal communication system, and in the future, may support employees in creating more agent roles themselves. Armstrong said that in the long term, the number of internal AI agents may surpass that of human employees.
In addition, Coinbase has previously launched the Agentic Wallet, which supports AI autonomous trading, and has promoted the x402 protocol and related payment infrastructure development, continuously exploring the integration of AI and blockchain applications.
