In recent years, China's "rape cases" are closely related to the MeToo movement.

Before the MeToo movement (which emerged in China around 2018), victims of sexual assault in China faced almost impossible belief.
Reporting a case would be met with suspicion, and winning a lawsuit was nearly impossible.
After the MeToo movement, public opinion and political attitudes in China toward sexual assault cases sharply declined tolerance.
The judicial authorities face strong political pressure to "severely punish sexual assault," and acquittals are easily met with public criticism.
