Just found out JK Rowling's net worth hit $1 billion - apparently she's the first author ever to reach that milestone. Wild. Like the Harry Potter books literally printed money, but seeing the actual number is different.

But here's what really got me - Grant Cardone is supposedly worth $1.6 billion as an author. More than Rowling. I had to double-check that one because I genuinely didn't know who he was until I looked him up.

Then there's James Patterson at $800M and all these other authors I thought were just moderately successful. John Grisham pulling in $50-80M yearly just from royalties? Matt Groening with his Simpsons empire at $600M? It's honestly insane how much money is in the writing game when you actually make it.

Makes you wonder what the actual richest authors are doing that we don't even hear about. Anyone else surprised by these numbers?
