According to today (April 8) reports from Iran’s Tasnim News Agency citing informed sources, the news that the head of Iran’s negotiating team has been confirmed by some Iranian media is not true; the matter has not been finalized yet. The report states that the Secretariat of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and relevant government departments are assessing various aspects and necessary conditions of the negotiations and will soon issue an official announcement. Previously, reports from the Iranian Students’ News Agency, the Light News Agency, and others said that Iran’s Islamic Parliament Speaker, Kalibaf, would lead the Iranian delegation to hold negotiations with the United States in Islamabad, Pakistan, with the U.S. delegation led by Vice President Vance.
