Is Bitcoin a CIA operation?

Jiang Xueqin put forward his version of the origin of BTC—in his view, the creation of cryptocurrency could be attributed not to lone individuals, but to structures at the level of intelligence agencies.

The logic is simple—if you break down the history of BTC through game theory, three questions must be asked: who had the technology, who benefits from it, and why hide everything.

First, creating a blockchain from scratch is not a task for an enthusiast from a basement. According to his version, the same kinds of resources were possessed by the very structures that created the internet and GPS — (DARPA, NSA, CIA).

Second, the benefit. Blockchain provides two things at once—total transparency of transactions and a potential financing tool outside the classical system. In essence, it’s an ideal environment where you can both track flows and use them to bypass traditional mechanisms.

And finally, anonymity. Jiang believes that without the legend of “decentralization” and the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto, the system simply wouldn’t have earned trust. If it had been clear from the start who was behind it, no one would have invested money.

Jiang Xueqin is a Chinese game theory professor who became known thanks to his YouTube channel with a “predictive story.” In 2024, he predicted Donald Trump’s victory in the elections and a war between the США and Iran.
