Ministry of Foreign Affairs: China will continue to play a constructive role and contribute to restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East regions
On April 8, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a regular press conference. When asked about the fighting in Iran, Mao Ning said that since the outbreak of the Iran conflict, China has been actively committed to promoting peace talks and urging a ceasefire. Foreign Minister Wang Yi has, one after another, held 26 phone calls with the foreign ministers of relevant countries, and China’s Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs has traveled back and forth between the Middle East and the Gulf region. China and Pakistan have also jointly put forward a five-point initiative on restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and the Middle East regions. As a responsible major country, China will continue to play a constructive role and make positive contributions to restoring peace and tranquility in the Gulf and the Middle East regions.( CCTV News)
