Macron says France will "not participate" in military strikes against Iran
According to French media reports, French President Macron, who is visiting Japan, stated on April 1st that France “does not participate” in the military strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran.
According to French media reports, Macron responded to U.S. President Trump’s accusation that France was “extremely uncooperative” during an interview with Japanese media on that day. He emphasized that when the U.S. and Israel launched military strikes against Iran, France was not consulted in advance and did not participate, so France “does not participate in this war.”
On March 31st, Trump posted on social media that France does not allow aircraft carrying military supplies heading to Israel to fly over its territory. “France has been extremely uncooperative in military actions against Iran, and the U.S. will remember that!”
The Élysée Palace, France’s presidential residence, expressed “surprise” at Trump’s remarks that day and told the media that France’s stance has remained unchanged from the beginning.
