Director of Xinda Securities Research Institute suspected of sexually harassing subordinate, police report: Zuo Moumou has been criminally detained
The latest update has emerged regarding the case involving the director of the Cinda Securities Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Cinda Securities,” 601059) Research Institute, who is suspected of molesting a female subordinate.
On the evening of March 25, Shanghai Pudong Public Security issued a police situation briefing: At around 8:00 PM on March 24, 2026, the Weifang New Village Police Station under the Pudong Public Security Sub-bureau received a report. It said that a woman who had come to Shanghai on a business trip was molested by a colleague. The police immediately launched an investigation. At present, the criminal suspect, Zuo Moumou (male, 42), has been criminally detained by the police in accordance with the law, and the case is still under further investigation.
Earlier on March 25, in response to news that went viral online stating that the director of Cinda Securities Research Institute, and energy chief analyst Zuo Qianming, was reported by a subordinate and accused of molestation, a relevant person from Cinda Securities told a reporter from The Paper: “The company has noticed the online reports. At present, we have suspended all work by Zuo Qianming and initiated an internal review, and we will actively cooperate with the relevant work of the public security authorities.”
Public information shows that Zuo Qianming, PhD, graduated from China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing). He previously served as Deputy Director (in charge) of the Industry Consulting Department of the China Coal Industry Association, and has been engaged in research and consulting in coal and energy-related fields for more than ten years. He joined Cinda Securities in 2016. Since 2019, he has been responsible for research in the large energy sector and has led the team to win numerous awards in the research field. In July 2025, Zuo Qianming was appointed as the director of the Cinda Securities Research Institute.
According to information on the official website of the China Securities Association, Zuo Qianming’s practice registration institution is Cinda Securities, and his registration category is for general securities business. On July 30, 2018, Zuo Qianming’s registration category at Cinda Securities was changed to securities investment consulting (analyst).
According to information on the official website, Cinda Securities was established in September 2007 as the first securities company in China’s domestic AMC system. The headquarters is in Beijing. It is a securities firm approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission, formed with China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd. (now China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd.) as the primary initiator. Together with China Hainan Trust Investment Co., Ltd. (now China Hainan Trust Co., Ltd.) and China National Materials Industry Science and Technology Group (now China National Materials Group Co., Ltd.), and based on inheriting securities-related assets from China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd.’s investment banking business, as well as its acquisition of securities companies in Liaoning Province and Hantang Securities Co., Ltd., it was established as a securities company.
Cinda Securities has set up more than 100 branches across multiple provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government nationwide. It has five subsidiaries in mainland China and Hong Kong. On February 1, 2023, the company was listed and began trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
In terms of performance, in the first three quarters of 2025, Cinda Securities’ operating revenue was 3.019 billion yuan, up 28.46% year over year; net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 1.354 billion yuan, up 52.89% year over year.
According to Dazhihui VIP, as of the close on March 25, Cinda Securities closed at 16.70 yuan per share, up 1.21%.
