The China Association for Science and Technology, along with 16 other scientific and technological organizations including the China Society of Automation, the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the China Computer Federation, and the Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence, jointly issued the “Global Artificial Intelligence Governance Science and Technology Community Initiative” on April 13.
The initiative advocates for a people-centered approach, promoting intelligent kindness, and aims to establish an open, fair, inclusive, and effective global artificial intelligence governance system.
The initiative proposes that enhancing human well-being should be the fundamental principle of artificial intelligence academic research; safety should be the baseline requirement for AI research and governance;
respect for the equal participation rights of all countries in AI research and governance; oppose technological hegemony, academic barriers, exclusionary “small circles,” and unreasonable technological monopolies;
and guide the public to correctly understand the stages of technological development and potential risks. (Xinhua News Agency)
