Iraqi armed groups announce "conditional" pause of attacks on U.S. embassy for 5 days

The Iraqi Shia militia group “Kata’ib Hezbollah” issued a statement on the 19th saying that its leader has ordered a five-day suspension of attacks against the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, but with several conditions.
The statement said that the suspension of attacks must be implemented in conjunction with the following conditions, including Israel stopping its bombing operations in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon; all parties promising not to carry out airstrikes on Baghdad and the residents of Iraqi provinces; and U.S. CIA personnel being restricted within the embassy grounds, among others.
The statement emphasized that if these conditions are not met, the organization will resume and intensify its offensive actions.
The statement called on the Iraqi government and security forces to continue protecting diplomatic and economic entities in Iraq, provided that their respective countries are not involved in the current conflict, and that Israeli and U.S. military personnel, considered “spies and war groups,” are not included in the protection.
Since the large-scale military operations launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran on February 28, the U.S. embassy in Iraq’s Green Zone in Baghdad has frequently been targeted by drones and rocket attacks.
