Our 27th National Climate Observatory — the Xiong’an National Climate Observatory officially began operation on the 1st. Its basic meteorological observation data will be uploaded in real-time to the meteorological big data cloud platform “Tianqing,” further enhancing climate monitoring and assessment, refined forecasting and early warning, and industry meteorological service support capabilities, thereby strengthening meteorological support for the high-standard, high-quality development of Xiong’an New Area.
According to the China Meteorological Administration, the layout of the Xiong’an Observatory’s operations is divided into “one main station and eight auxiliary stations” — the main observatory station and auxiliary stations in Rongcheng, Anxin, Dawang, Zhaoli, Laheitou, Zanggang, Maozhou, and the Dian District, covering the urban and rural spatial layout of Xiong’an New Area with “one main, five auxiliary, and multiple nodes,” as well as four typical ecological zones: urban, forest, wetland, and farmland.
The National Climate Observatory is a national-level ground comprehensive observation station that conducts long-term, continuous, three-dimensional, and integrated observations of the climate system’s multiple layers and their interactions. It also serves as a platform for scientific research, open cooperation, and talent development in related fields. (Xinhua News Agency)
