On April 13, Trump and the U.S. Central Command had different statements on the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz in terms of the scope. The U.S. military’s official statement was more restrained, targeting Iranian ports rather than the Strait of Hormuz as a whole. Trump said yesterday that the U.S. Navy would blockade the Strait of Hormuz and intercept all ships paying tolls to Iran. Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command issued a notice stating that its forces would begin implementing a maritime traffic blockade of all ships entering or leaving Iranian ports at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on April 13 (22:00 Beijing time today).
