Energy storage + grid equipment upgrade dual drive, grid equipment surges, Guotai (561380) grid equipment ETF rises nearly 3%, with net inflow of over 300 million yuan in the past 20 days.
Energy storage + grid equipment updates drive dual growth, grid equipment surges, on April 8th, the Guotai (561380) Grid Equipment ETF rose nearly 3%, with net inflows exceeding 300 million yuan over the past 20 days.
Wenwu Securities pointed out that in terms of energy storage, the national-level capacity compensation electricity price has been introduced, and subsequent provinces will release detailed rules and lists. Power calculation collaboration further boosts energy storage demand. U.S. data center energy storage continues to drive growth, with many projects in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions, leading to strong demand for large-scale storage; aside from Australia’s household storage policies, the UK and Poland are also increasing household storage subsidies. Household storage is entering a new growth cycle, and industrial and commercial storage in Europe and other regions is also beginning to grow significantly. It is expected that global energy storage installations will grow by over 60% in 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of 30-50% from 2027 to 2029. Regarding the grid, demand for primary equipment remains steadily growing, while bidding demand for secondary equipment has increased significantly year-on-year, mainly driven by large-scale equipment upgrades. Overseas computing power upgrades continue to raise requirements for AIDC, with clear trends toward high voltage, direct current, and high power. SST is accelerating, and domestic related companies are gaining new opportunities for overseas expansion. North America faces a major trend of power shortages.
The Guotai (561380) Grid Equipment ETF tracks the Hang Seng A-Share Grid Equipment Index (HSCAUPG), which selects listed companies in the A-share market whose main revenue sources are from grid-related sub-industries as index samples. It covers transmission and transformation equipment, grid automation, and other full industry chain segments, reflecting the overall performance of listed companies in China’s grid equipment industry.
