I am staring at my phone screen, my fingers feeling stiff every time I scroll through news about the never-ending war. Each headline feels heavier—not just the number of casualties, but the stories behind them. Houses destroyed, families separated, and children who should be playing, instead learning to survive amid the sound of explosions.
From my perspective, war is not just a conflict between nations or a struggle for power. It’s about people losing everything in an instant. Sometimes I ask myself, what does it feel like to live there? Waking up in the morning without knowing if today will be the last.
I realize that here I can still complain about small things—hot weather, slow internet connection, or boring routines. But elsewhere, people only hope to see the sunrise again without fear.
Those news stories make me feel small, but they also open my eyes. This world is unbalanced, and peace is something we often take for granted. From this small screen, I learn that empathy is the simplest thing I can still give—even if only through prayer and awareness that out there, lives are fighting much harder than mine.
