Capable of preventing thermal runaway, China has made a major breakthrough in sodium-ion battery research

According to the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Physics, researcher Hu Yongsheng’s team recently achieved the first “thermal runaway-free” sodium-ion battery at the ampere-hour level. They successfully developed a self-protecting, polymerizable non-flammable electrolyte (PNE), solving a core safety bottleneck in new energy batteries. This will promote the commercialization of sodium-ion batteries. The achievement was published recently in the international academic journal “Nature Energy.” (CCTV News)
