Breaking News: Iran cannot fully open the Strait of Hormuz because they "could not find" some of the mines the country had laid in the waterway and lack the capability to remove them, according to multiple U.S. officials cited by the NYT.

The mines were quickly laid using small boats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and some have drifted away from their original positions.
The NYT also reports that Araghchi's previous comments about "technical limitations" in reopening specifically refer to the issue of mine removal.
