CoinWorld News reports that Starknet posted on X platform stating that Starknet v0.14.2 is now open for voting, with the voting deadline set for April 16.
This upgrade includes SNIP-36, SNIP-37, and SNIP-13, along with several internal adjustments to prepare for the SNIP-33 decentralized validation phase launching later this year.
The release focuses on three main objectives: first, enabling protocol-internal S-Two proof verification to support low-cost privacy scenarios and zk-thread applications; second, adjusting the storage economic model to better reflect actual network resource usage while maintaining developer cost efficiency; third, upgrading the StarkGate token contract to optimize ERC-20 event indexing, validation, and token handling.
The update also incorporates internal upgrades related to the next phase of decentralization, including p2p improvements, weighted proposer sampling, and the virtual proposer concept.
STRK holders can review the pre-release notes and related SNIP before participating in the vote.
