After today's update:
> $TON has switched to a new fast consensus protocol — Catchain 2.0.
What has changed:
> transaction speed is now instant — ~1 second;
> block production speed has increased by 5–6 times — validator rewards have also increased;
> $TON staking yield will reach 20–25% per year.
Inflation:
> $TON emission inflation will rise from ~0.6% to ~3.6% per year.
Burning:
> the $TON chain has a mechanism that burns 50% of the transaction fee paid;
> at the current chain activity level, the annual inflation will decrease from ~3.6% to ~3.58% per year.
Given that $TON chain fees are planned to be reduced — the impact of burning at the current activity level can be considered negligible:
> the effect of fee burning will only be noticeable with a significant increase in transaction volume — meaning the ecosystem must grow many times over.
