Linus Torvalds has spoken out again, and it's always good for a surprise. The creator of Linux made it pretty clear in a forum what he thinks about cryptocurrencies – spoiler: not much. He calls them a "great tool for scams" and compares the whole thing to classic Ponzi schemes. It's somewhat funny how he puts it: the next fool pays the price.
What amuses me: there were wild rumors that Torvalds himself could be Satoshi Nakamoto. This was especially fueled when his name suddenly appeared in the Linux kernel in 2022. But he quickly clarified – it was just a joke by a prankster who manipulated GitHub. And regarding his Linus Torvalds fortune: he made it clear that he doesn't hold a large Bitcoin fortune and that these speculations are just "empty chatter."
In the same post, he also dismisses technological singularity, calling it a "bedtime story for children." His point: continuous exponential growth doesn't make sense; the limits are approaching. Typical Torvalds – no time for science fiction fantasies.
