Jin10 Data, April 9 — French President Emmanuel Macron posted on social media on April 8 that he had phone calls with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, urging all parties involved in the conflict to fully adhere to ceasefire agreements in all conflict areas, including Lebanon. Macron emphasized that a ceasefire in all regions is necessary to ensure a credible and lasting peace. A ceasefire should pave the way for comprehensive negotiations and ensure the safety of all people in the Middle East. In another post, Macron said he also spoke with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. During the calls, he strongly condemned Israel’s indiscriminate airstrikes on Lebanon that day. He stated that the airstrikes caused numerous civilian casualties and directly threatened the sustainability of the ceasefire. The scope of the ceasefire must include Lebanon.
