I’m curious how the ranking of the top 10 richest people in the world is changing. I just analyzed data from the beginning of the year, and honestly, it’s impressive how much technology has taken over these lists.

Elon Musk is in a completely different league—his wealth reached 726 billion dollars. Never before in history has anyone had that level of personal wealth. It’s a madness driven by the growth of SpaceX, Starlink, Tesla, and his involvement in artificial intelligence. The gap between him and everyone else is simply gigantic.

Apart from Musk, the top 10 richest people in the world are practically all tech people. Larry Page from Google in second place with 270 billion dollars, Jeff Bezos third with 255 billion dollars. Next we have Sergey Brin, Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg. Even Bernard Arnault from LVMH made it into the top, but that’s more of a traditional business.

What surprises me is how AI and cloud computing are accelerating the growth of these fortunes. The space industry, semiconductors, the dominance of American tech companies—everything is creating the perfect conditions for these people. Long-term investments in companies where they kept a lot of shares are now paying off in hundreds of billions.

I got interested in how closely this wealth boom is tied to technology. Looking at the top 10 richest people in the world, you can clearly see a trend—whoever controls AI, space, and technology controls global wealth. These are no longer times when billionaires built an empire through trade or manufacturing.

Worth watching how these fortunes will change over the coming months, especially considering the rapid changes in the tech sector and AI.
