I've noticed that there's a lot of speculation and theories surrounding the quantum financial system (QFS), but in reality? There's nothing concrete yet. People believe that QFS could replace SWIFT and clean up the banking system from corruption and usury, but we simply lack evidence that such a project is even in development.

The technology behind this concept sounds interesting—quantum computing and artificial intelligence could theoretically process all financial transactions without today's systems. But the reality is different. Banks and governments are not prepared for this, and probably don't want to be. That would be a huge change.

What’s interesting is that something else is actually happening—central bank digital currencies. According to the CBDC Tracker, most countries are working on some form of CBDC. That’s essentially what’s really happening instead of QFS. Various institutions are testing different parts of the technology—some with quantum computers, some with AI, some with blockchain. But a comprehensive system? That’s not happening.

Although QFS may never be realized, quantum technologies in finance are already providing real benefits. Better computational power, advanced data analysis, security—all of these can be utilized. High-frequency trading, options pricing, portfolio optimization—these are already in use.

The reality is that traditional finance is under pressure. Some new systems, like those built around cryptocurrencies, will develop in the coming years. But the idea of a complete QFS that would change everything? That’s still just a theory. For now, what’s happening is a gradual transformation, where different technologies are integrated step by step.
