Vance: US May Use 'Untapped Measures' if Iran Fails to Reach Agreement
On April 8, local time, US Vice President Vance stated that if Iran fails to reach an agreement before the deadline that evening, the US may escalate its actions against Iran, potentially utilizing previously ‘untapped measures.’ Vance mentioned that the US has the ‘capability to inflict greater pain,’ but emphasized that both Trump and he do not wish to reach that point and are actively pursuing negotiations. He indicated that the US expects to receive a response from Iran by 8 PM Eastern Time on April 7 (8 AM Beijing Time on April 8), regardless of whether the outcome is positive or negative.
