Eat cheap fruits, cheap vegetables, and cheap grains.
Because no one would put a lot of effort into a few cents' worth of cabbage—after all, adding too much could lead to a loss. But the more expensive something is, the more effort is put into it, because merchants fear it will spoil. Once it spoils, the cost becomes too high.
