Iran responds to the U.S. claim of a "15-Point Ceasefire Plan": The demands are excessive, unrealistic, and unreasonable
According to an Iranian media report on the 30th, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Baghaei said that Iran has not held any direct negotiations with the United States so far, and that the ceasefire plan proposed by the U.S. is “excessive and unreasonable.” Baghaei said that the Iranian side has received information—through certain intermediaries—regarding the United States expressing its willingness to negotiate. He said that the so-called U.S. ceasefire “15-point plan,” and its demands, which have been mentioned by others, are “excessive and unreasonable.” Baghaei said that, unlike the U.S. side’s constant shifting of positions and issuing of mutually contradictory statements, Iran’s side has always maintained a clear position.
When speaking about a regional meeting held in Pakistan earlier, Baghaei said that the meeting fell within a framework set by the Pakistani side, and that Iran did not participate. However, if regional countries are concerned about regional peace and security, that is something that deserves affirmation. He also stressed that the international community should focus on the party that started the war, rather than unilaterally demanding that one side exercise restraint. Baghaei reiterated that Iran is not the initiator of the war, but the side that was attacked during the process of diplomatic negotiations. He said that once Iran’s side reaches conclusions on the relevant issues, it will promptly make them public. (Xinhua News Agency)
