I noticed an interesting trend at the beginning of the year — the concentration of global wealth has reached a new level. Tech entrepreneurs are literally rewriting the rules of the game, and the figures I’ve seen are simply astonishing.

Elon Musk remains the richest person on the planet with a net worth of around $726 billion. This is no longer just leadership — it’s a historic dominance. SpaceX, Starlink, Tesla, neurotechnology — each venture adds to his wealth. No one in modern history has accumulated personal wealth on such a scale.

But what’s interesting is what happens further down the list. Larry Page, with his $270 billion, holds second place, benefiting from Alphabet’s dominance in AI. Jeff Bezos is third with $255 billion — AWS and Amazon logistics continue to work for his capital.

Next are Sergey Brin ($1928374656574839296T), Larry Ellison ($1928374656574839296T), Mark Zuckerberg ($1928374656574839296T), Bernard Arnault ($1928374656574839296T), Steve Ballmer ($1928374656574839296T), Jensen Huang ($1928374656574839296T), and Warren Buffett ($1928374656574839296T). It’s clear that the world’s richest person has pulled away from the rest much more than before.

What drives this? First, the exponential rise of AI and cloud computing. Second, the revaluation of space technologies and semiconductors. Third, American tech companies simply dominate globally. And finally — founders who held onto their shares are now reaping the benefits of long-term bets.

This isn’t just about money. It’s about how technology is re-concentrating wealth in the hands of those who bet on innovation. The market clearly overestimates the potential of AI and technology, and as long as this wave doesn’t slow down, the top lists will look exactly like this.
