Just scrolled through some stuff about Vitalik Buterin and honestly, it's pretty wild how disconnected he is from typical billionaire lifestyle. The guy holds roughly $11 billion in Ether, yet you'd never guess it by looking at him. He lives in a condo, not some sprawling mansion. Takes the subway. Does his own laundry by hand. Wears plain t-shirts and shorts pretty much year-round with messy hair that looks like he just rolled out of bed.
What's interesting is that where does he live and how he lives there tells you something about his priorities. Singapore is where he's based, and people around him say he genuinely looks like just another person on the street, not a billionaire at all. The minimalism isn't some carefully crafted image either—it's actually how he operates. He could easily afford a private jet, luxury everything, but he consciously chooses the subway instead.
I think what makes Vitalik different is that he's not chasing the Musk-style lifestyle. He's been pretty clear about that. His focus is on freedom of thought and intellectual pursuits, not material accumulation. The guy literally said he doesn't want to live like that, and he means it. That's a rare mindset when you're sitting on $11 billion.
Meanwhile, ETH is trading at $2.10K right now with a -1.45% 24h move. Interesting to think about the founder's values when you're watching the market. His vision for Ethereum seems to be more about what the tech can do than what it can make him personally own.
