Recently, I was browsing Netflix and other platforms for interesting movies about cryptocurrencies, because honestly, this industry deserves better storytelling than just price news. And you know what? I found quite a few really solid productions that show cryptocurrencies from completely different perspectives.
We started with the more dramatic ones. *Crypto* from 2019 is a thriller where Wall Street meets the dark side of digital money. Plot, corruption, money laundering — the whole spectrum. If you like tension, this will be for you. And if you prefer something lighter, *Napad na Bitcoin z Wietnamu* is action like *Ocean's 11*, but in the world of cryptocurrencies. Pretty fun, too.
Seriously speaking, documentaries are where it’s at. *Maszyna Zaufania* directed by *Alexa Wintera* is a deep dive into how blockchain can change finance, science, or humanitarian work. Not just a typical tech story — it’s real conversations with the people building it.
*Wzlot i upadek Bitcoina* is a classic if you want to understand how it all began. You see early miners, investors, and people who believed in it before Bitcoin became trendy. *Banking on Bitcoin* is also a great introduction — it shows the history, but at the same time all the regulatory troubles that were waiting for the industry.
If you’re more interested in the social aspect, *Pośpiech Kryptowalut* from 2020 focuses on how women are entering this space. It’s a different perspective than usual. *Bitcoin: Poza Bańką* asks a tough question — is it a speculative bubble or a real future? *Ewangelia Bitcoina* featuring *Roger Ver* is for those who want to understand the ideology behind all of this.
But if you want real dramas, *Nie ufaj nikomu* on Netflix is a must-watch. The story of QuadrigaCX, the mysterious death of Gerald Cotten, $250 million blocked — this is a real crime story, not fiction. *Zdeszyfrowane* is, in turn, a satirical comedy about a secret team trying to find *Satoshiego Nakamoto*. Strange, but brilliantly inventive.
If you want a more detailed look at the blockchain industry, *Pieniądze Open Source* is a series that follows real companies and their regulatory challenges. Less sensational, but more educational.
All these crypto movies show one thing — this space has deep stories. There are thrillers, documentaries, dramas, and even comedies. No matter whether you’re interested in technology, economics, or just a good story, everyone can find something for themselves on this list. Personally, I start with *Banking on Bitcoin* for the story, and then move on to *Don't Trust Anyone* for the full drama. Which crypto movie would you like to watch first?
